ACTIVITIES

WEEKLY MEETINGS
Troop 600 meets every Monday night, year-round, at Oak Ridge Presbyterian Church. Our meetings start at 7:00 and end promptly at 8:30. Scouts learn outdoor and leadership skills, prepare for weekend activities, and enjoy time with their friends.

MONTHLY OUTINGS
Every month, year-round, we head off as a Troop for an adventure. Hiking, sailing, scuba diving, kayaking, climbing and repelling, mountain biking, horseback riding, snorkeling, caving, zip lining, tubing, snow boarding, water skiing - if the Scouts plan it, we do it.

HIGH ADVENTURE TRIPS
Each year, we offer high adventure trips. These include trips to Philmont Scout Reservation, Florida Sea Base, Northern Tier, High Knolls, World Scout Jamborees, National Scout Jamborees, West Point, and the US Naval Academy.

SUMMER CAMP
One week each summer, our Troop attends a week long summer camp. The Scouts spend time outdoors learning new skills and trying new activities. They enjoy a week forging relationships away from home. We average seven Scouts serving on camp staff each summer.

ADVANCED TRAINING
We offer a bit extra beyond the standard Scout Troop. We offer in-house the following certifications - Basic First Aid, CPR, Wilderness First Aid, and Leave No Trace. We offer Scuba certification twice a year.

ORDER OF THE ARROW
As the result of having an active advancement and year-round activities program, we have 36 Scouts and 8 adults who are members of the Order of the Arrow. Some hold leadership positions in the Chapter and the Lodge.
